We are proud to publish the official Tournament Structure Document for the upcoming Buhurt International World Championships 2025.
This document lays the foundation for how the tournament will be conducted: covering everything from registration to the final rounds. Whether you are a fighter, team captain, coach, marshal, or organizer, this is your go-to resource for understanding how the event will unfold.

🔍 What's inside?
This structure document provides a transparent and unified format for all categories. Key points include:
Registration timeline and rules – including badge requirements and check-in windows (July 16–18)
Tournament format – detailed explanation of qualifying pools, elimination brackets, and round-robin finals for medal placement
Tie-breaking procedures – outlined clearly with a four-step process, including ratios, penalties, and final duels if needed
Specific rule amendments – covering white flags, cards, timeouts, verified injuries, appeals, and weigh-in protocol
A change log for future transparency and version control
This is the framework on which the championship stands. Make sure your team is aware of all relevant sections — it will help avoid confusion and ensure everyone is competing under the same expectations.
In addition to the Tournament Structure, we’ve also made two important updates to the Authenticity Committee blog note, which all teams and national organizations should review:
A clarification regarding blackening on weapons – which materials and methods are acceptable
An update on how green cards are tracked – particularly in relation to category overlap and escalation toward red card disqualification
These clarifications are part of our ongoing effort to maintain fairness, clarity, and historical credibility within the sport. The Authenticity Committee plays a vital role in ensuring our shared standards are respected and consistent.
Please ensure your fighters are informed about these additions.
