BI World Championships Update #5

Rules

The official BI Rules and Regulations will not be updated before BIWC to prevent any confusion or unexpected changes that could affect the competitors' experience.

However, there will be a few special rules for the Massed Battle categories, which will be explained with video examples. These are expected to be ready for publication soon.

Media Accreditation

Accreditation forms and invites will soon be sent to selected individuals for video and photography roles. These individuals will be focused on capturing content for the entire BI community.

Additionally, forms will be sent to National Organizations (NOs) and National Captains (NCs) to register media personnel specific to each country.

Please note: We will maintain a limited number of camera crew around the lists at all times.

Historic Clothing Requirement

All competitors and support staff are required to wear historic clothing around the lists and in the Medieval Camp.

• A tabard counts, but your lower half must also be covered, and appropriate historic footwear is required.

• Bare or mostly bare chests (e.g., visible sports bras) under tabards are not allowed near the lists.

Tabard Rules

• 5s / 12s Teams: All members must wear matching national tabards with correct heraldry.

• 30s Teams: Must wear national tabards. If multiple countries join together, a sash matching the heraldry of the largest team is required—worn over the national tabard.

• Duels / Outrance: Wearing a tabard is optional, but if worn, it must be the National Team Tabard.

Event Updates from Hungary

• 🎟️ Ticket Presales will begin soon — please help us spread the word by liking and sharing related posts!

• ⛺ Tent Rentals: Currently limited, but more are on the way. If you have any tent rental leads, please email us so we can try to make a deal.

• 🚿 Showers: Due to limited quality and high costs, there will be no showers at the medieval camp. Toilets will be available on-site.

  
  

  Modern showers can be accessed with a 6-minute walk to the nearby sports center. We may arrange a passenger van to do shuttle runs based on demand.

• 🍲 A brewing and catering company will operate several food stations throughout the event. All staff and competitors will receive discounted meal rates.

Event Merchandise

• Online Store: A wider variety of items will be available through our online shop.

• National Shirts:

  • Feature the event logo with National Team Flags.

  • Preorder only – must be ordered and paid by June 1st.

  • Color: Dark Heather only.

  • A portion of profits will go to National Teams.

• Event Shirts:

  • A standard event design will be available for sale on-site.

• Event Pins:

  • All competitors, support, and staff will receive one free pin.

  • A limited quantity will be available for purchase.
